Verifying Employability Skills: A Model Project Measuring the Impact and Involvement of Industry Partnerships

This project is built upon the foundational information and research taken from the BATEC Information Technology Workforce Skills Study and findings from The Partnership for 21st Century Skills.

Initially formed as a task force focused on the central question of how to better assess student outcomes and competence, this project is aimed at measuring the specific impact of employability skills in the classroom. Using 21st century tools and teaching methods, the project engages faculty, industry and community partners in the collaborative process of reviewing course materials and metrics used to evaluate student projects, performances and competencies. The model project endeavors to uncover student data about course experiences and workforce preparedness while also raising awareness of the vital role of community colleges in meeting workforce needs.
